Design Updates
Since submitting the planning application, we have continued discussions with Westminster City Council. In response to their feedback, we have made some further refinements to the building’s façades along Bear Street and Cranbourn Street.
The refinements focus on the building’s architectural design and detailing, helping it respond more sensitively to the surrounding buildings and heritage setting.
The four main changes are detailed below
-
Finer design detailing on the terracotta-coloured sections, that better reflects the neighbouring buildings.
-
Stronger horizontal divisions and cornicing to break up the apparent scale of the building along Bear Street.
-
More prominent windows, with glazing brought forward to improve their visibility from street level.
-
Refined window arrangements, finer design details and cornicing create a more balanced appearance on Cranbourn Street and respond more sensitively to its surroundings and the Grade II listed Hippodrome.
